So, you’re thinking about visiting Crossroads and you wanna know what to expect. So would I! First off, please come. Check us out. We think we’re friendly, but not pushy; meaning, lots of people will say hi, but nobody will get in your face.
Childcare
Childcare is available Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 12:00 (except for the nursery service, which provides care for children ages infant to toddler, which is only available during the worship service from 10:30 -12:00). This covers the Sunday School hour and the worship service. Children 6 months to 3 years old can be taken to the nursery and there are Sunday School classes for ages 4 – 18.
Sunday School
We offer nursery for ages 6 months through 3 years old, Children’s Sunday School for ages 4 – elementary, a class for middle schoolers, a class for high schoolers and one adult Sunday morning class for ages 18 and up.
You can expect our adult Sunday morning class to be an academic type class where you can learn about what we call Christianity and why we do what we do.
Service Time
Our worship service starts at 10:30.
What To Expect: Dress
We think our services are pretty reverent, but also fairly casual. Typical dress is jeans, a nice shirt and casual shoes for men and women, but we honestly run the gamut with some of our seniors wearing suits and some of our younger members wearing shorts and flip flops. Bottom line: no matter what you wear you won’t feel outta place.
What To Expect: Service Schedule
Our typical service schedule starts with worshiping with music (about 3 or 4 songs). Our music is a mix of pretty familiar Christian stuff (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, etc).
Following the musical worship we typically have a sermon by our Pastor, Michael Holmes, which generally lasts from 30-45 minutes.
At this time (just before the message) we also dismiss our children (primary & elementary age) to Children’s Church, where they do crafts and get their very own lesson.
We are generally finished with service by 11:45 to 12:00 at the latest. After that some of us usually hang out and fellowship and some go to lunch together. It’s always a great day!
Special Service Elements
Occasionally we will have other elements to the service like Baptisms or Communion or some prayer time. Baptisms happen when we have two or three people who would like to be baptized and we generally have Communion on the first Sunday of the month.
